Aruchal government urged to take steps to prevent Paris Polyphylla extraction

Itagar, Jun 23: Expressing concern over the illegal extraction of Paris Polyphylla and other endangered flora and fau from the Moualing tiol Park, the Adi Among Autonomous Kebang (AAAK) has appealed to the state government and the department of Forest in particular, to take stringent steps to check it.

The AAAK has in a meeting of its executive members at Pasighat office yesterday said that every year tons of Paris Pollyphylla are reportedly extracted from the park which has increased the risk of extinction of various species.

Urging the chief minister to initiate early steps for establishing more check gates with sufficient man power and utilities at remote area, the Kebang further demanded immediate transfer of officials posted at Jengging Division, claiming that most of them rarely stay at their posting place, a press release informed here today.
