Aruchal okays APRPS Act 2016

ITAGAR, Jan 10: What could be termed as a major development in terms of administrative reforms in Aruchal Pradesh, the state government is all set to ect a statutory law to provide the citizens a hassle free public services and redressal of grievances in a time bound manner.

The Cabinet headed by Chief Minister bam Tuki in its meeting yesterday approved for ecting of a Bill mely Aruchal Pradesh Right to Public Service Act 2016 to be tabled in the ensuing Assembly Session starting from January 14 next, government spokesman Bamang Felix said in a statement today.

Concerned over the prevailing scerio of public services where the common citizens has to contend with delays and denials at various levels, the Cabinet viewed that the process of governce particularly on public services delivery system has to be overhauled and improved.

It is for this reasons that the state government has taken a firm stem for ectment of Aruchal Pradesh Right to Public Service Act 2016 which intends to guarantee time bound delivery of services for various public services rendered by the government to citizens and provide mechanism for punishing the errant public servant who is deficient in providing service in stipulated under the statute. This legislation would reduce corruption and increase transparency and accountability while ensuring timely delivery of public services.

Another major decision that the cabinet took on the day was to frame necessary regulations for effective and proper monitoring of functioning of the Private Higher Educatiol Institutions in Aruchal Pradesh.

The Cabinet took serious note on mushrooming of private universities in the state and lack of effective monitoring mechanism with the state government to regulate their activities.

In the backdrop, the Cabinet approved for framing of regulations for the effective functioning of Pvt. Higher Education Institutions and ectment of Aruchal Pradesh Private Educatiol Institutions (Regulatory Commission) Bill 2016, which will be tabled in the ensuing Assembly Session to be discussed and passed for becoming an ACT, Felix added.
