Aruchal to generate 710 mw power by year end

Itagar, Jan 8: Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi yesterday chaired a series of meetings where he reviewed the progress of the 600 mw Kameng Hydro Electric Power Project and 110 mw Pare Hydroelectric Power Project.

The CS was informed by the officials of the concerned project that the Kameng HEP in East Kameng District and Pare project in Papum Pare are expected to be completed by the year end, an official report said here today.

With the completion of the above projects, 710 mw power would be generated in the state. The CS also reviewed the progress of the 132 KV transmission line.

In a short meeting, officials from the North Easter Development Fince Corporation Limited (NEDFi) presented a power point on comprehensive study on skill development in the state.

In another meeting, the CS reviewed the status of the Film Northeast 2016 which is scheduled to be held from February 17 to 20 next.

The concluding day of the festival would also mark the beginning of the Aruchal Statehood Day celebrations 2016. The Film Northeast 2016 is being organised by the Department of IPR in collaboration with the Aruchal Film Federation.

Moji Riba Co Director of the Festival through a power point presentation presented a brief overview of the festival and also projected the requirements of logistics support from the department.

Quite impressed by the presentation, the CS asked all the concerned departments to coordite so that the festival could be celebrated in a grand way.

The meeting was attended by IPR Secreatry Som Chombey, Secretary Art and Culture Dani Salu, Capital Complex DC Mige Kamki, SP Capital Complex, Pill Topo GS Aruchal Film Federation and officials from forest, power and PHED, the report added.
