Aruchalee boy scripts rare record

Itagar, Jan 19: Proving that that nothing is impossible if there is will power, a boy from Aruchal scripted his own destiny and took to football, like fish to water. Hailing from Seppa in East Kameng district of Aruchal Pradesh, Sono Effa is a class IX standard student in Bhonsala Military School, gpur Maharashtra.

What is so intriguing about Effa is he represented his school in the Subroto Cup Intertiol Football Tourment 2015 at Ambedkar stadium New Delhi in September- October 2015.

In September- October last, Effa represented his school in the under -17 team, where they lost to a team from Bangladesh in the quarter-fils.

In 2014, he was the captain of the under-14 team for the tourment and scored seven goals, out of the thirty scored against a team from Sri Lanka. However, they lost in the quarterfils 2-1 against a team from galand.

On January 16 last, he received a certificate and memento from Maharashtra sports and youth affairs minister RK Shrawat for his outstanding performance and achievement during the school annual day parade. Sono, who is son of Hydro Power Development Corporation of Aruchal Pradesh Limited chairman Tungri Effa, is a cadet with tiol Cadet Corps (NCC) and hone his skills under their guidance.

I want to pursue football as a career, he says.

“I’ve always dreamt of donning the Indian colors and one day I want to represent my country.

With such will power, the sky is the limit for the budding sportsman.
