Arun Kiwi wine coming

Itagar, April 30: Arun Kiwi Wine - being made out of Kiwi fruits from Aruchal Pradesh, will be launched in a grand manner on May 6. This decision was taken in a meeting of Aruchal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing & Processing Board (APHPM & PB) members and officers of the directorate of horticulture held on April 24 last. The meeting also decided to organize a tiol level workshop on fruits processing to mark the occasion. Resource persons from the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Food Processing and winery industries are expected to take part in the workshop. Presiding over the meeting, APHPM & PB Kipa Niya exhorted the officers concerned to exploit other fruits for making such wine.  Production of wine with unsalable fruits in the market will definitely help the farmers to earn more, he opined.

He also suggested for setting up of winery in Aruchal with easily available raw materials which will help the government in earning more revenue. Earlier, APHPM&PB MD Tage Tatung informed that on a pilot project 2500 kg of kiwi fruits from Aruchal Pradesh was sent to Rhythm Winery of Hill Crest Foods & Beverages Pvt. Ltd. Pune, Maharashtra  in January, 2014, out of which 2500 litres of kiwi wine were produced with excellent quality and branded as “Arun Kiwi,”. He further informed that Arun Kiwi wine has huge demand in Maharashtra and it has already been launched in Mumbai on 12 September 2014.
