Arun Phukan stresses on water body preservation

Guwahati, December 23:  The newly-appointed parliamentary secretary for Public Health Engineering (PHE),  Arun Phukan, while iugurating the PHE office at Hengerabari, emphasized on existing water body preservation in the State.

“Not  only preservation of water is important, but also the proper utilization of the water is also necessary,” said Phukan at a function held on the occasion. “For this taking up short and long term policies is necessary,” he added. Phukan also urged the people to pay attention to the gradual decrease of underground water and appealed for stopping its misuse.

Ashok Kumar Das, secretary, PHE, presided over the iugural meeting where Chief Engineer (P) Kamal Ch. Sut, Chief Engineer (B & S) Dipak Kr. Mazumdar and party leaders Nikan Barman and Hafijur Rahman were present.
