Arunachal gets maiden Innovation Hub, Planetarium

Itanagar: The science and technology sector in Arunachal Pradesh received a major boost on Saturday with the formal inauguration of the maiden Innovation Hub and Space Education Centre (Planetarium) at state Science Centre located at Indira Gandhi Park here.

Land Management, Environment and Forest Minister Nabam Rebia while dedicating the planetarium to the people of the state, said that the state government has accorded top priority on science, technology and innovation sector especially, in higher and technical education for human resource development.

“In the next few years, we will have some brilliant ideas, innovations and start ups from the state to talk about.

The 45-seater planetarium and the Innovation Hub has been developed with an estimated cost of Rs four crore by the National Council of Science Museum, Kolkata under the union ministry of Culture in association with the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology under the state department of Science and Technology.

The work of the project sanctioned in the year 2014, was formally began in 2016 and completed this year.

The Centre would facilitate and serve as springboards for new ideas and innovationto help the society to face future challenges and meet rising aspirations of the growing population.

The Innovation Hub would help the youth and children of the state to enhance their knowledge in science and technology with fun and creative activities.
