Arunachal Governor Dr BD Mishra Appeals To People To Adopt Yoga

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Friday called upon the people of the State to adopt yoga for a healthy body and mind. Participating in the International Day of Yoga at National Institute of Technology at Yupia, near here, the governor, an avid practiser of yoga shared the benefits of yoga, the most precious gift of Indian knowledge, consciousness and traditions, a Raj Bhawan communique informed.

Students from North Eastern Regional Institute of Technology (NERIST), Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) and Don Bosco College besides officers from police and administration participated in the yoga session.

The Governor said that it is the vision and far-sightedness of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that yoga has become the world’s charm activity today.

“It is providing physical and mental solace, quality of life and also the much accolade bonding to the people of different parts of the world,” he said.

Dr Mishra also urged upon the participants to spread the benefits of yoga to their friends, peers, neighbours and most importantly to the younger generation for their healthier tomorrow.

He informed the participants that to help, preserve, protect, aid and improve the environment, this year’s theme for the International Day of Yoga is ‘Climate Action’.

“This year’s Yoga Day theme merits to be addressed with utmost seriousness by every human soul on the earth,” he said, the communique added.
