Arunachal Pradesh DGP SBK Singh Assures ACCI on Steps for Safety of Traders

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) SBK Singh has assured a team of Arunachal Chambers of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) led by its president Tarh Nachung and secretary general Toko Tatung to take steps in larger interest of the traders. The police beat idea was initiated by ACCI and actively functioned during 2009 and 2010, Nachung said and sought to make police beats functional in strategic locations of Capital Complex including, Doimukh, Yupia, Gumto and Banderdewa.

The ACCI president urged for strict patrolling round the clock in capital complex for the safety & security of traders, commuters and denizens. Extortion has turned into a menace for traders, innocent public besides causing law & order problems, Tatung said and called for containing it.

Accepting suggestions in presence of DIG west and Capital Complex SP, the DGP assured to set up 4 to 6 police beats with adequate police personal in various sensitive areas of the Capital Complex which would function from July 31 for safety and security of traders and civilians but structures to be built by the ACCI and self funded.

The police chief also assured to set up three more nakas in addition to existing ones; CCTV service to be improved in some sensitive areas including, Doimukh, Kola Camp and Gumto check gates besides special patrolling team.
