Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society Greets APSCW Members

ITANAGAR: Members of the Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) congratulated the new fifth commissioning body of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), Itanagar at its office on Thursday. The new Chairperson of the APSCW is Radhilu Chai Techi, Vice Chairperson Heyomai Towsik and members Hoksum Ori, Likha Joya and Hunmai who had assumed the office on December 31, 2018.

APWWS members visiting the office of APSCW on the day discussed various problems and issues related to women and child and submitted a memorandum highlighting issues such as mushrooming of bar-cum-restaurants, issues related to the alarming rise of flesh trade in the twin capital, unisex parlors-cum-spas and shared approach on to check and control it. APWWS also raised their concerns regarding the repeated assaults on minors and the girl child in schools and other spaces. They further expressed their concerns on the marriage registration Act and discussed about codification of customary law.
