Itanagar, May 24: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Kumar Waii today announced plan to set up city surveillance centre by installing CC cameras to ensure safety and security of the civilians.

Addressing a function after inaugurating a police assistant booth within Rama Krishna Mission Hospital here, he said that the police force of ‘Team Police’ led by DGP S B K Singh, is a family like ‘Team Arunachal’, and called upon every civilian to be part of the family to prevent law and order problems. The unemployed youth, who resort to extortion under influence of drugs and partying in clubs in late hours are law & order problems, he said, adding their parents and guardians should shoulder responsibility to discipline them instead of always blaming police.

He lauded the hospital for selfless service to state’s needy and poor people for which the police booth has been provided as desired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu to extend help on the spot and such booth would also be set up in Tomo Riba Memorial Institute of Medical & Health Science at Naharlagun.

Such booths are set up in hospitals of major cities as their integral part, said DGP Singh and assured to provide best possible services as and when needed. He appreciated the hospital authority for providing space and furniture for the booth.

Rama Krishna Mission Secretary Swami Vishaswnanda maharaj thanked the chief minister for sanctioning the booth to tackle numerous problems due to emergency medico legal and trauma cases.

The Home Minister and DGP inspected the booth armed with police gears and three beds before distributing fruits to indoor patients.
