Assam Accord Will Be Implemented, Narendra Modi & Amit Shah Assure AGP

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured a high-level delegation of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) to implement the clauses of the Assam Accord in New Delhi on Thursday. Stating that “the Centre will fulfill the commitments made to the people of Assam”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi added, “The Central government will work for the progress and development of Assam.” Union Home Minister Amit Shah also told the AGP delegation that he would be visiting the Assam-Bangladesh border.

The AGP delegation called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister besides paying a courtesy visit to the newly elected working BJP president JP Nadda. The AGP delegation consisted of party president Atul Bora, its working president Keshab Mahanta, Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury, and newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Birendra Prasad Baishya, among others.
