Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Meeting: 30 Names Cleared For Casting Vote

GUWAHATI: The Electoral officer of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has accepted 30 out of 34 voters recommended by different ACA units. These 30 voters can now attend ACA meetings, besides casting their votes.

While one of the other four recommended voters has been rejected, the remaining three have been asked to fulfil necessary condition in support of their claim by January 6.

The general meeting of ACA is slated for January 12 and if necessary election would be held for different posts including president and secretary.

Unlike other ACA units the Karimganj unit recommended two names-Amalesh Choudhury and Sanjive Narain-to attend the meeting and to vote. But Amalesh Choudhury’s name has been rejected as the vice president is not authorized to nominate someone for inclusion in the electoral college. On the other hand Sanjive Narain along with two others- Pranab Baruah (Dibrugarh University Sports Board) and Ranjan Kumar Kakati’s (Gauhati University Sports Board) recommendation has been accepted conditionally and they have been instructed to fulfil the necessary conditions by January 6.
