Assam Face Manipur Today For Santosh Trophy Soccer Championship

GUWAHATI: Assam will face Manipur in their last group league match in North East qualifying round of the Santosh Trophy soccer championship in Aizawl tomorrow. The winner of the game would move into the final round. Both the sides got to walk over against Nagaland as they didn’t turn up to play the competition. In their other group matches Assam defeated Arunachal Pradesh 2-1 and Manipur won against same outfit by 1-0.

Talking to The Sentinel over telephone from Aizawl coach of Assam Subir Dey said, “We will go into the ground with an aim to collect full three points as it would ensure our berth in the next round.” He also added that there is no fitness or injury problem in the team.
