Assam finished with a defeat

GUWAHATI, March 4: Assam finished the Santosh trophy campaign with another defeat and this time against Maharastra. In a one sided game Maharastra thrashed Assam by 6-1 in the last league match held at Ludhia today. Assam, who were trailing by 0-4 in the first half, conceded two more goals in the later part of the game. Suraj Mondal returned one in the 50th minutes. It may be mentioned here that Assam lost its earlier three league games also to Punjab, Bengal and Services respectively.
