Assam Floods: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner visits Flood-hit villages

JOYSAGAR: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner PG Jha has visited flood-affected villages of Gaurisagar Development Block on Friday and also took stock of the ongoing rescue and rehabilitation operations. Further, under the leadership of the Sivasagar DC, the administrative officers of the DC’s office have distributed food items and necessary medicines to the flood-affected villagers of Bhatibon Gaon, Rupahimukh, Rudrasagar, Bhatiapara, Joysagar, Kalugaon, Salaguri, Sundarpur, and Konwarpur.

Meanwhile, several social groups of the town have distributed relief materials among flood victims of the district. Among such social groups, the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, the Gurudwara Management Committee, Dolmukh Chariali Sadar Masjid Committee and the Sivasagar Babosayee Shanstha are in the forefront. On the other hand, the water level of the Dikhow, Desang, Dorika, Namdang, Jhanji and Deroi river has seemingly fallen today.
