GUWAHATI: The Assam Football Association constituted a three members committee to scrutinize the financial reports of the previous years which was submitted by the earlier committee. The decision was taken in the Special General Body meeting of the association held in the city under the chairmanship of president Naba Kumar Doley.

A source from the association today said that the All India Football Federation is not happy with the activities of the previous committee, particularly about the handling of funds, and already informed the association in this regard. The present body has decided to scrutinize everything so that they didn’t face the wrath of the Federation.

Meanwhile the meeting today made necessary amendment in the constitution to accommodate some of the members who are earlier selected in the Annual General Meeting. The meeting also decided to prepare the annual calendar with the suggestions from the different district associations.

The source said, “A section of the members today requested the committee to instruct all the district affiliated units to complete their local league by July. It can help to finalize the date of different district championships without hampering the local league. However it was decided that the annual calendar would be prepared after the district units placed their suggestions on this subject.”
