Assam Government compensates flood victims of Sivasagar district

JOYSAGAR: Compensation declared by the Assam government for victims of the recent flood in Sivasagar district was distributed by the district administration on Sunday. In the first phase, the families of two deceased persons received an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 2 lakh each.

The cheques were formally handed over to the family members of Lila Dutta and Bipin Dutta of Simaluguri. Mahmora MLA Jogen Mohan and Sivasagar ADC Moon Gogoi went to the houses of the victims and distributed the cheques.
