Assam Governor takes additional charge of Manipur

Guwahati, May 2: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi took oath as the Governor of Manipur today.  Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur  Justice N Kotiswar Singh administered the oath of office to him at a solemn function held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal.

As per a Government communiqué Jagdish Mukhi will discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur with effect from the date he assumes charge  during the absence on leave of Najma A Heptulla. The charge of Manipur will be in addition to his present charge as the Governor of Assam.
