Assam lost to Odisha

GUWAHATI, March 26: Assam suffered huge 82 runs defeat against Odisha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20  Cricket championship held at Cuttack today. Chasing 193 runs to win Assam were bowled out 110 in 17.5 overs. Except Pallav Kumar Das (34) no other top order batsmen were successful to play big innings today. Pallav took 21 balls  to score 34 runs and there were five hits to the fence in his innings. Pratik Das picked up 5-18. Earlier home team piled up 192-4 in their 20 overs. A Sarengi and G Podder contributed 43 and 47 runs respectively. Syed Mohammad collected 2-20. With this win Odisha top the point table collecting 8 points from two games. Assam, who won their first game against Bengal yesterday, are in the third spot with four points from two matches.

Brief score: Odisha 192-4 (20 overs), A  Sarengi 43, G Podder 47, Arabind Singh 34, Syed Mohammad 2-20, Sarupam Purkayastha 2-20. Assam 110 (17.5 overs), Pallav Das 34 , Abu Nechim Ahmed 17, Sib Sankar Roy 14, Pratik Das 5-18.
