Assam migrant worker reportedly killed by train in Kerela

Sarupathar: A migrant worker from the Assam-Nagaland border of Dalanipathar in Uriamghat under Golaghat district was killed after being hit by a speeding train in Kerela on Sunday.

As per reports, the migrant went to Kerela in search of work.

According to the Railway sources in Kerela, the boy tried to cross the railway track at Kerela railway station when the unfortunate incident took place. It is suspected that the boy might have run over by a train at Kerela Railway Station.

The deceased was identified as Ranjeet Bhumiz son of Nagen Bhumiz.

After the incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel of Kerela had sent a request to the Assam police of Sarupathar requesting them to inform about the incident to the victim's parents.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased youth told the media that, the boy went to Kerela ten days back and have also contacted them after reaching.

The father of the deceased youth had also informed that they would approach the landowners of the region for financial help to recover the body from Kerala soon.
