Assam Petrochemicals Ltd observes Safety Awareness Week

Namrup: The Assam Petrochemicals Ltd, a major PSU under the State sector, observed Safety Awareness Week from November 21 to November 27 with several glittering programmes aimed at bringing safety awareness among its employees. On the first day, the programme started with the wearing of safety badges which was followed by the hoisting of the safety flag by Ratul Bordoloi, Managing Director, APL, in front of APL’s emergency assembly point. On the other hand, S. Borkotoky, GM (Materials), administered the safety pledge.

On the second day, the programme included safety slogan writing competition among the employees of APL. On third day, a first-aid fire-fighting training cum-demonstration was held at APL Club. On the concluding day, a general meeting was held under the chairmanship of D. Bhattacharyya, Gr. G. M. (P&M) in the presence of top officials and other employees.

Earlier, J. Buragohain, Safety Officer, welcomed the guests and spoke about the objectives of the meet. Several speakers, including members of APWU, elaborated on the importance of safety norms in the workplace. D. Bhattacharyya dwelt at length on the importance of safety in the workplaces as well as in every work of life. The general meeting rounded off with the price distribution ceremony where prizes were given to the winners of the slogan and essay-writing competitions.
