Assam Police Commando Murder Case: One apprehended, Police hunt for more suspects

Makum: In a major development to the brutal murder incident of Assam Police Commando Girish Dutta on Sunday midnight, Assam police apprehended one suspect in connection to the matter on Monday afternoon.

As per police sources from the office of the Superintendent of police in Tinsukia had informed The Sentinel Digital that Assam police has launched an operation to nab down all the culprits who were directly involved in the case within the next few days.

Meanwhile, Police sources had denied sharing the identity of the suspect as of now.

It may be mentioned that the brave heart commando of Assam Police Girish Dutta was brutally stabbed to death by miscreants on Sunday mid-night near the railway gate at 2nd Assam Police Batallion Camp in Makum.

Girish Dutta was a trainer for the Commandos at the Assam Police Department; he had conducted many training sessions for the Commandos in all parts of the districts in Assam.

Earlier, Local people in the area of 2nd Assam Police Battalion in Makum demanding justice for the deceased officer had blocked the National Highways 37 for several hours.

Tinsukia Superintendent of Police, Siladitya Chetia had also reached the spot and brought down the situation under control.

Girish Dutta is a resident of Ashok Nagar in Makum Batallion was returning back from Kendriya Adhibeshan of Asom Moran Sabha and Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad at Tingrai in Digboi when he reportedly had a clash with some unidentified miscreants which got intensified later. Dutta was chased, dragged and killed by the miscreants.

The matter had sparked sensation in the entire area.
