Assam Police Opens Helpline Numbers For People From Assam In Arunachal Pradesh

GUWAHATI: The North East Students’ Organization (NESO) on Monday demanded the governments in Delhi and Itanagar to take steps on a war footing to restore normalcy in Arunachal Pradesh.

In a press statement issued on Monday evening, NESO Advisor Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya said the present unrest in Arunachal Pradesh has not only crippled normal life but also caused massive destruction of public property. He said a team of artists from Assam has also faced the wrath of protestors and many of their costly musical instruments have been destroyed.

Bhattacharjya while demanding the Arunachal Pradesh government to pay adequate compensations to artistes whose musical instruments were damaged, said the NESO and All Assam Students’ Union are in constant touch with some artistes still stranded in Arunachal due to the ongoing strikes.

Meanwhile, the Assam Police has started helpline numbers (8749860803/0361-2381511) to extend all kinds of help to the stranded people from Assam in Arunachal.
