Soon after the publication of the complete draft NRC in Assam on July 30, 2018, the West Bengal Chief Minister addressed the media. In his FIR, Dhrubajyoti Talukdar, under the banner of the APW, said: “Those statements were totally communal as she tried to colour the process of NRC in Assam with Bengali versus Assamese which is likely to cause breach of peace and tranquility amongst the two communities residing in Assam as well as threat to the life and liberty of the Assamese people residing in West Bengal.”
