Assam Rifles lift Independence Day Cup title

GUWAHATI, Nov 5: Assam Rifles lifted 69th Independence Day Cup Soccer title defeating BSF, Jalandhar by 2-0 in a well contested fil held at gaon today. The match was just nine minutes old when Akum Ao put Assam Rifles ahead with a nice goal. Mintu Chetry doubled the lead in the 73rd minutes. Akum Ao was later adjudged player of the fil.
