Assam Shines Again, Now Athlete Pokhila Ingtipi Wins Gold In Asia Pacific Masters’ Games at Malaysia

Guwahati: In an astounding fete for Assam again in the field of sports, Assam girl Pokhila Ingtipi who hails from Diphu in Karbi Anglong won the Gold medal in the 5000 meters walking competition of Asia Pacific Masters’ Games at Penang in Malaysia.

Reportedly, Assam’s Pokhila also clinched a Bronze medal in 5000 meters race during the same event. With this new and astounding fete, Pokhila has now become the first girl from Assam to leave a mark in the Athletics category of this competition.

The Asia Pacific Masters’ Games 2018 includes 22 separate categories including archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, hockey, swimming, squash, tennis, weightlifting, volleyball and more.

It may be mentioned that earlier in April this year, she secured a gold medal in the 1st National Masters Games at Chandigarh in the 1,500 meters race category.
