GUWAHATI, April 28: Assam will face Manipur in the fil of the T Ao Soccer championship which will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium on May one. Both the semi fils were held at the same venue today where Manipur earned fil berth thrashing galand by 5-1 and Assam moved to title clash by registering 2-0 win against Mizoram.
The second semi fil between Assam and Mizoram was a one-sided affair and the hosta domited most part of the game although maged to score only two goals. The players were disturbed by insects and that forced the organizer to stop the game for nearly half an hour today.
After the barren first half, Assam went into the lead in the 62 nd minutes through Kapil Daimary. The side increased the margin two minutes before the fil whistle and this time Rajiv Boro scored the goal for the host.
Meanwhile the result of first semi fil between Manipur and galand could be suggest one sided match but it was not like so. galand gave good fight to Manipur particularly in the first half where they created more opportunities than their opponent but failed to convert most of them.
Manipur took just six minutes to take the lead through L Ferndo Singh. Ferndo headed in a nice free kick which was taken by Ch. And Kumar Singh from outside the box. galand got the equalizer in the dying stage of the first half when Imtiwapang's nice head went straight into the goal.
galand came close to score their second goal in the same half but Limakumzu's powerful shot from inside the box missed the goal by a whisker.
However in the second half Manipur played much better football and pumped in four goals. Two of them came in a span of seven minutes through Seikhohao Tuboi and Roshan Meitei. Seikhohao Tuboi also scored the fifth goal of his side/ N Pritam Singh was the other scorer for manipur.
