Assault on female scribe condemned

DIBRUGARH, February 2:  SI Foundation Media Social Welfare Asom (SIFMSWA)   – a voluntary organization engaged in social welfare as well as welfare of media persons have vehemently condemned the incident of assault on a woman jourlist, Mridusmita Bhuyan along with her cameraperson at Latashil Police station while on duty recently.  The organization also has vehemently criticized a police organization’s attempt to protect the ‘culprits’ of the incident. In a press release, bajyoti Dutta, director–in–chief of the body has demanded immediate arrest of the guilty cops concerned and to initiate legal action against them. He has also expressed dissatisfaction on the atrocities on the protesting jourlists on Monday. He also demanded an end of all kinds of atrocities on jourlists in the State and expected stern action against all those involved in it.
