Assembly passes key bills

Itagar, March 22: The Aruchal Pradesh Assembly today passed two important government bills by voice votes. Chief Minister Kalikho Pul yesterday introduced the bills in the assembly. The bills - Aruchal Pradesh Tourism (Trade Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2016 and Aruchal Pradesh Right to Public Services Bill, 2016, was passed by voice votes after various members participating in discussion suggested for certain amendments at later stage. The Aruchal Pradesh Tourism (Trade Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2016 would help in safeguarding the interests of tourists visiting the state, under which a few officers of the tourism department would be vested with magisterial powers including the power of compounding, in case of cheating, overcharging, harassment, pestering and touting faced by the tourists.

The bill would ensure sustaibility of tourism growth in the state and help formalizing the largely informal sectors of tourism industry through registration and certification.

The bill would also streamline the activities of tourism in the state within set framework, standardization of facilities and protocols and to bring about tourism activities legally within the administration of the tourism department.

The Aruchal Pradesh Right to Public Services Bill, 2016 would deal with systematic and time bound delivery of services for all government servants.

It would also ensure right based approach by empowering the public with the right to receive delivery of services within stipulated time lines.

The Bill would also eble the citizens to access government services and obtain information in a unified and simplified manner and ebled government to provide the required services seamlessly.
