Assembly Speaker distributes cheques

JORHAT, Oct 20: Assembly Speaker Hitendra th Goswami  distributed cheques to 112 beneficiaries under Atal Amrit Abhiyan in a function  held on  Friday at the auditorium of Platarium at Jorhat.  Atal Amrit Abhiyan is a unique health assurance scheme launched by Government of Assam on December 25, 2016 for  the  benefit of economically  poor people of the State. Under the scheme, patients suffering from six critical diseases such as cancer neurological conditions, burn injuries and neo-tal complications, get monetary assistance upto 2 lakh rupees a year. 
Distributing the cheques to the beneficiaries, Hitendra th Goswami, Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Member of Parliament,Jorhat Lok Sabha emphasized on taking the scheme to the maximum people. They requested Health Department to do wide spread publicity for the card system under Atal Amrit Abhiyan recently started in Jorhat. In the card system, a family with an income of Rs. 5 lakhs or less would be able to take benefit of quality healthcare by producing the card at the empanelled hospitals throughout the state and the country. Virendra Mittal, Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat, was present at the function.
