At Whopping Rs 39,001 per kg, Exclusive Assam Tea becomes Costliest Tea in India!

Guwahati: An exclusive variety of Assam tea, Manohari which resembles like Gold has fetched a whooping Rs 39,001 per Kg at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre.

With its outstanding taste and uniqueness, the Manohari Gold Tea has been claimed to be India’s costliest Tea.

It may be mentioned that, Manohari Tea Estate under the brand name Manohari Gold Tea, went to the highest bidder in the orthodox teas during sale number 30 at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre.

As per reports, two kilograms of the exclusive Manohari Gold Tea was purchased at the auction by a Saurabh Tea Traders, which is a locally based tea dealer. It is on its way to be dispatch half a kilogram to a client based in Ahmedabad and the rest one kilogram will reach other two clients from Delhi and Kolkata.

As per the tea estate official which grows it at Dibrugarh in Assam, it requires 20 days to produce two kilograms of gold tips of the tea. Also, the tea is made entirely from the bud and has hand-made gold tips.

Fetching such elusive prices, the Manohari Gold Tea is all set to satisfy the beverage enthusiasts in the country and abroad, provided if people are ready enough to shell out so much to quench their thirst.
