Atal Tinkering Laboratory iugurated

Numaligarh, Oct 30: Delhi Public School, Numaligarh achieved yet another feat with the iuguration of the prestigious Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), a Government of India initiative of Niti Ayog under Atal Innovation Mission. DPS Numaligarh is the only school amongst other DPS schools of the North East to be the proud recipient of the ATL and also the only school in the Golaghat district to benefit from Niti Aayog.

 The Atal Tinkering Lab was iugurated by Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture Atul Bora.  Also present on the occasion were P Padmabhan, Maging Director Numaligarh Refinery Limited, Dr. M.O. Garg Ex-Director General CSIR, Dr Karu Kalita, Prof. Mechanical Engineering dept. IIT Guwahati and other senior officials of NRL and students of nearby schools.

 In her welcome address, the Principal of DPS Numaligarh Anurekha Barkakoti expressed her happiness in instilling scientific temperament among the students of not just her own school but also of the neighbouring schools. The objectives and benefit of Atal Tinkering Laboratory to the students of the school and that of neighbouring schools was highlighted by ATL convenor, DPS Numaligarh Dr Sangeeta Bharali Datta.

 Padmabhan, Maging Director, NRL in his address applauded the initiative taken by the school and expressed his concern that it is the need of the hour to cater to the scientific bent of mind in children for the development of the tion. In his speech, Atul Bora stressed about science being a boon to society and that it should be taken seriously and in a positive direction, stated a press release.
