ATASU activists burn Rajen Gohain's effigy

DEMOW, December 6: The activists of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Demow Regiol Committee, in association with ATASU Sivasagar subdivision committee, burnt the effigy of Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain on Tuesday afternoon in Demow Chariali at NH-37 Road in protest against his alleged controversial comment comparing Hindu Bangladeshis with Tai Ahom community.

 The ATASU activists shouted various slogans and slammed the Minister of State for Railways. They demanded the Minister of State for Railways to apology publically against his controversial comment without delay. Under the leadership of Jayanta Gogoi, president and Sumeet Handique, joint secretary of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Demow Regiol Committee, the protest was carried out. Gobin Gogoi, vice-president of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Sivasagar District Committee, Sandeep Gogoi, joint secretary of ATASU, Sivasagar subdivision committee, Moon Dowarah, working president, Hemanga Mohan Barua, assistant general secretary of ATASU, Demow Regiol Committee along with other activists of ATASU were present.
