ATASU activists burn VK Singh's effigy

DEMOW, September 17: Activists of the Demow Regiol Committee of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU) burnt the effigy of Union Minister of State for Exterl Affairs VK Singh and Prime Minister rendra Modi in Demow Chariali on Thursday afternoon in protest against the alleged comments made by Singh on Wednesday that States like Assam which had proximity to the two countries of Pakistan and Bangladesh would have to take the burden of such immigrants. A large number of ATASU activists took part in the programme and shouted various slogans against  VK Singh and rendra Modi. In the protest Jayanta Gogoi, Nipon Barua, Satradhar Gogoi, Sandip Gogoi along with various ATASU leaders were present.
