ATASU stages hunger strike

Tinsukia, June 9: Activists of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Tinsukia district committee staged a hunger strike in front of Tinsukia District Library from Monday morning to Tuesday evening, to demand stopping the Dibang Dam project. M. Buragohain of ATASU alleged that the Dibang Dam project in Aruchal Pradesh had been taken up to destroy Assam. ATASU also alleged that the State Government had adopted anti-Tinsukia policies.
