ATASU stages protest in Lakhimpur

Lakhimpur, July 29: In support of the demand for ST status to the Tai Ahom community, the activists of Lakhimpur district ATASU staged a strike in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday.

Many ATASU members including the president, secretary and joint secretary of Lakhimpur Tai Ahom Students’ Union Achyut Buragohain, Bikash Gogoi and Ungfa Chayengia respectively took part actively in the protest. They also submitted a memorandum to the Central Government through the local administration.
