Atletico has 'best defence in La Liga': Lewandowski

Munich, April 26: Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has said their Champions League football semi-fil opponents Atletico Madrid have “the best defence in La Liga” and they are expecting a tough contest. “They have the best defense in the Spanish Liga. I think they’re a team that plays on the break. We need to be careful,” Lewandowski said on Monday.

“I hope we show our strong side in the first leg in Madrid and take a good result back to Munich,” the Polish striker added. “They have some wonderful players and I think it will be an attractive match.”

As for his current season, seen by many as not one of the best, the Polish goal machine said, “It has been a very decent season. I hope to score a few more important goals and I hope to win some trophies, but I’m happy to be scoring so many.” IANS
