ATM facilities sought

Hojai, May 5: The people of Lumding in general and the people of south Lumding in particular, have expressed their concern over the absence of ATM facilities in the area. There is not a single ATM in south Lumding area. Despite the fact that the Chief Mager of the State Bank India branch here is trying his best to establish an ATM at south Lumding, but the Railway authority is not sanctioning any plot for the ATM. However, the Railway authority has asked the bank to establish ATMs on the Railway land near the DRM Building and some other places belonging to Railways, whereas no land has been sanctioned for even one ATM at south Lumding, a vast area in Lumding, the locals alleged. The people have urged the Railway authority to sanction a small plot of land so as to eble the bank authority to establish an ATM in the area.
