Attachment camp by DAO Division concludes

DIBRUGARH, January 27: The attachment camp organized by DAO Division at Dinjan Military Station concluded successfully last week.

In the two–week long camp, 65 NCC cadets of colleges from Sibsagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Margherita and Ledo participated. The event started on January 12. During the attachment camp, a number of training activities, which included weapon training, sports and physical as well as weapon and equipment display, tent pitching and competition were conducted.  A visit to various facilities available in the military station such as swimming pool, DAO sports complex, military hospital and war memorial was also organized.

The closing address for the cadets was delivered by Commanding Officer Light Regiment of DAO Division on January 24.  Speaking on the occasion, he said that NCC cadets were ambassadors of Indian Army and they, in fact youth in general, should act as catalyst to bring peace and prosperity in society. The CO asked cadets to imbibe the lessons learnt during camp in their persol life also.  On this occasion he gave away certificates and prizes to the cadets.  Prize for best tent pitching team was won by Section One of Alfa Platoon lead by Cadet Bijay Rajkhowa, while the top three individual prizes for best cadets in written examition were won by Cadet Pratha Pratim, Pragyan Deep Gogoi and Avishek Kar respectively.
