Attack on NHPC official at Roing condemned

Itagar, Nov 17: The Bengia Welfare Society (BWS) has taken serious note of the brutal attack on one of its clan members, Bengia Guma who is the Deputy Mager of Dibang Hydro-Project being executed by the NHPC, by some local youths at Roing on Tuesday night.

Family sources informed that the victim was attacked and assaulted in his official residence, that too in front of his wife and children, without any provocation.

“The victim sustained grievous injuries on his head, neck and back. The prima-facie circumstances like entering the residence at night hours with masked faces, group assault, armed with lethal weapons like iron rod, hockey sticks and stone which manifest the clear case of attempt to murder,” the BWS stated in a release.

The brutal ture of crime suggests that it was a pre-meditated cold blooded attack not on the victim alone but clan member in particular clan with malicious intent to disturb peaceful environment, it said.

The organisation condemned the barbaric and unprovoked attack on Guma and urged upon the law enforcing authorities to do justice to the victim by apprehending the perpetrators of the crime within seven days and unearth the truth behind the attack.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of Service Associations of Aruchal Pradesh (CoSAAP) also condemned the inhumane attack.

Attacking the innocent employees has become very bad and regular practice in today’s society, the association stated in a release. Further CoSAAP demanded for immediate arrest of the crimils and awarding of exemplary punishment as per the appropriate section and law of land.
