Attempt to loot money in gaon foiled

GAON, November 2: An attempt of two miscreants to rob Rs 6 lakh from a person was foiled in gaon on Monday. The incident took place at Haibargaon near ADP Bridge. A person med Hemakanta Bora had the money with him when the miscreants attempt loot the entire amount. Hemakanta Bora, who is an office bearer of postal department, was going to Dhing from the Head Post Office of gaon with the money. He was walking to catch a bus which travels to Dhing at about 11 am. Two motorcycle-borne miscreants, who were probably following Bora, tried to stch the money near the ADP Bridge. Bora raised an alarm and people walking around surrounded the miscreants, held one of them with his bike while the other was able to flee from the spot. The bbed miscreant has been identified as Pinku Das who was handed over to the police. The one who fled has been identified as Gu Miri. Police sources said that the seized bike was actually a stolen one. Police investigation is on.
