Attempted car theft foiled

SHILLONG, Jan 10: An attempted car theft was thwarted by passerby’s today as people were attending a Sunday service at Mawkhar Presbyterian Church. However the car thief maged to escape before police persol arrived. The incident happened at around 2.30PM when an unidentified person maged to get inside a Maruti 800 vehicle belonging to Pastor B. N Chetri parked in front of the Mawkhar Presbyterian Church however his attempt was foiled because the steering of the car was locked and since he can’t maneuver the vehicle it crashed into a Bolero belonging to B War. On seeing the incident unfolding passerby’s tired to catch the unidentified person however he maged to flee the scene.
