ATTSA stages 50-hour hunger strike

Golaghat (Dhekial), Sept 15: The activists of Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association of Golaghat district committee have staged 50-hour hunger strike near the Deputy Commissioner’s office of Golaghat on Friday demanding resolution of various problems facing by the tea tribes community in Assam.
The president and secretary of the organization Jagdish Boraik and Umasankar Kurmi respectively said that the Assam government has been depriving the tea tribe community. The lamented that after seventy years of independence, the people of tea tribes community in Assam have to live as landless. They demanded the Sarbanda Sonowal led government to fulfill the assurance  given before the election. They also demand allotment of land patta to tea tribes. They  demanded cancellation of mes of  non tea tribes community students’ me who illegally got seats in Medical against reservation of tea tribes community. ATTSA also demanded the government to constitute separate council for tea tribe community for over all development. They threatened the government if their demands were not fulfilled in stipulated time, they will launch massive protest against the government.
