Atul Bora reviews progress of development works

Golaghat, May 16: State Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veteriry minister Atul Bora on Tuesday reviewed the progress of various developmental works currently under way in Golaghat district. Keeping in view the ensuing monsoon and floods season, the minister asked the heads of all related departments present in the meeting to take precautiory measures so as to tackle any eventuality during this period. The Minister laid special emphasis on the schemes of the Agriculture department and asked the department officials to co-ordite with the banks so that the farmers could get the full benefits of the various government schemes. He also asked the department officials to take up multiple cropping in select pockets on an experimental basis so that maximum benefit can be availed in one year.

The Minister also asked the Water Resources department to ensure immediate repair of the embankment near Dhansirimukh before the onset of the monsoon.  He also directed the Excise department officials to ensure strict compliance of the Supreme Court’s order regarding closing of liquor shops along the tiol and State highways in the district.

MLA Khumtai Mril Saikia, MLA Dergaon Bhabendra th Bharali, Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra, Superintendent of Police, Mabendra Dev Ray, Additiol Deputy Commissioners Orpah Baglari (Magistracy) and Utpal Doley (Revenue), SDO (Civil) Bokakhat Dhiraj Das, SDO (Civil) Bipul Das, Circle Officers and district and sub-divisiol administration officials and heads of various departments were present in today’s meeting.
