Itagar, Aug 9: Audition for the 10th Miss Aruchal 2017 will be held from September 10 to October 15, organisers said.
Under Aruchal Guild for Cultural Integration, Miles Acres is organising the audition for the beauty pageant in a bid to make young women strong and independent.
Tai Roket, the overall in-charge of the competition, said this year’s edition of Miss Aruchal will have a special quota for three underprivileged tribes – h, Puroik and Lisu.
This is for the first time that such a provision has been made.
“Contestants from these three communities will be given direct entry for the contest. The head body of these tribes has been informed regarding the contest and they will send their representative from respective districts,” Roket said.
Stating that the objective of Miss Aruchal is to raise self-esteem, improve public speaking and give a platform to young girls interested in fashion, Roket said that the zone-wise audition will begin from September 10 for East Kameng, West Kameng and Tawang districts with Bomdila as the venue.
September 15 is the date for Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi and Lower Subansiri districts in Ziro while the audition for West Siang and Lower Siang districts will be held in Aalo on September 21 and for Upper Siang, Siang and East Siang districts in Pasighat on September 24.
The audition for Upper Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley is scheduled in Roing on September 27, for Lohit and Anjaw in Tezu on September 29, for Changlang and msai in msai on October 2, and for Tirap and Longding in Deomali on October 5.
The mega audition for Papum Pare and Capital Complex will be in Itagar on October 15, the organisers said.
Organising Secretary Bengia chong said that the minimum height for Miss Aruchal 2017 will be 5.2 ft and each contestant must have passed Class XII pass and be 18 years old. The winner will be signed up for a year’s contract and will get a chance to contest in Femi Miss India.
