Augustine R Marak demands release of kidpped traders

SHILLONG, Oct 3: Local MDC and Deputy CEM, Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Augustine R Marak has strongly condemned the abduction of nine Assamese traders by miscreants from Weekly Silkigre market. “I would like to express my strong disapproval towards the kidpping of nine Assamese traders recently from Weekly Silkigre market,” he said. The incident has brought a sense of fear in the mind of the local people of the area and has also disrupted the normalcy in weekly marketing. The Deputy CEM has also appealed the kidpers to immediately release the traders unharmed. He informed that for the past one year he has kept on sending letters of suggestion to the Home Department to set up the Anti- Dacoity Camp at Silkigre however the concern department has remained silent on his suggestion. “Anti- Dacoity Camp is highly required in the Silkigre area,” Marak said.
