AU's Mass Communication department to be conferred 'B-School Leadership Award'

Many students passed out of this department have established themselves in various fields. Prof G P Pandey, the man behind the achievement, has been successfully leading the department and keeping everyone together.

Silchar, February 10: The Department of Mass Communication of Assam University, Silchar has been selected for the ‘B-School Leadership Award’ by D and Stars Group. This prestigious award will be given away on the occasion of 7th annual programme of D and Stars of the Industry Group to be held on February 18 at Taz Lands End, Mumbai. In a letter addressed to the Head of the Department of Mass Communication of Assam University Prof G P Pandey, the founder of World CSR Day and World Women Leadership Congress Dr R N Bhatia conveyed the news about the achievement made by the one of the best departments of the varsity.

While talking to The Sentinel, Prof G P Pandey expressed his gratitude to the D and Stars Group for selecting the Department of Mass Communication of Assam University for the prestigious award. He said, “I am very happy with the achievement made by the department which has become possible due to the sheer hard work of the teaching and non-teaching staff. I would like to thank all the teachers, non teaching staff as well as the students of the department for their support and help to run the department without any hassle.”

Prof Pandey at the same time expressed his thank to the Vice Chancellor of Assam University Prof Somth Dasgupta for his “constant support and encouragement”.

The Department of Mass Communication has always been considered as one of the best department of Assam University.
