Authorised Officers instructed to Receive Nomination Papers on Chhath Puja Holiday

Hailakandi: Nomination papers for the four levels of Panchayati Raj Institution constituencies will be distributed and received by the authorized officers on Tuesday though it is a government holiday on account of Chhath Puja.

The Hailakandi district administration has ordered the authorized officers to distribute and receive nomination papers from the candidates though it is a government holiday on account of Chhath Puja on Tuesday. The circle officers have been asked to coordinate with the authorized officers.

District Development Commissioner, FR Laskar said issue and receiving of nomination papers from the intending candidates shall remain functional on all days except on holidays notified under NI Act. Till now no nomination papers have been received from any PRI constituency. Hailakandi has 11 ZPMs comprising 62 Gaon Panchayats. Along with 10 districts, Hailakandi goes to polls in the second phase on December 9.
