Avinav, Rishav give good start to Guwahati

GUWAHATI, April 25: Good performance from Avinav Choudhury and Rishav Das helped Guwahati to make good start against Bongaigaon in the final of the Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket tournament which got under way at the ACA stadium, Barsapara here today. Guwahati today bowled out Bongaigaon paltry 108 runs in their first innings before took their first innings score to 74/1 at stumps on day I. Home team are now trailing by only 34 runs in the first innings with nine wickets in hand.

Guwahati, won the toss this morning, invited Bongaigaon to bat first. A nice spell from Avinav Choudhury forced the visitors to struggle from the very beginning of their innings and the side lost wickets on regular interval. Avinav took 6 wickets in the first innings giving away only 27 runs during his 17 overs spell. Fazlur Rahman (36) and Debodeep Nag (35) were the two batsmen who were able to put little resistance.

Guwahati made good start in their run chase and and were 74/1 when the match stopped, 61 Minutes before the schedule time, because of rain. Rishav Das remained not out on 51 and there are 10 boundaries in his innings.
